Adding on to an existing home may be a better economic choice.

Staying At Home A Great Investment

There have been great strides to make assisted living center (ALC) environments feel and look just like home.  But the question remains "Who's home Is It?"  With the cost of just an "average" ALC space at $40,000 to 60,000 per year, for some it makes better financial sense to consider adding a guest bedroom and accessible bath with a one time expenditure of $75,000 for a family member or future caregiver.

Boomers May Not Retire As Planned

Recent stock market losses and the lowered real estate values have prompted many Boomers to revamp their retirement plans. Some reports indicate that some will need to remain in the workforce.  But one survey clearly indicated that Boomers may actually want to continue being active in the business world.  They don't see their retirement age sitting in a rocking chair.  They want to remain engaged in something that is important to them, perhaps even a new career.
